Why Vaicacao?
We are Elisa and JuanRa, and we love the magical taste and properties of good cacao and chocolate! We believe cacao and chocolate should be traceable, like coffee or wine, so we indicate on our product labels which farm the cacao came from.
We choose cocoa grown on sustainable family farms like ours, Finca Cuyancùain The Savior, where JuanRa is from, and also select cacao grown on other Earth-friendly small farms throughout ancient Mesoamèrica, where we have built meaningful relationships with other growers while working on projects across the region.
After the cacao is harvested, fermented, and dried, we transform it into healthful crunchy cacao nibs, request ceremonial cocoa, and artisanal bean-to-bar chocolates, at our small craft chocolate manufactory in Sardinia, Italy, where Elisa is from.
